| Raised around the mean streets of Edgbaston, chemical_oli started his musical journey playing bass in a thrash/punk trio by the name of Fistula. Under the tuition of Tony 'Jake' Morgan, (bassist, Discharge) I sought to bring a new level of (dis)musicality to the music I loved by fusing the raw anarchic energies of punk and thrash into new musical guises using a plethora of musical influences ranging from the dis-jointed fury of the dead kennedys to the tonal sputterings of eyehategod. Add to this a hypodermic injection of malodorous, repugnant body music and you have my teenage years. (Think Genesis P Orridge with his eyes glued open being forced to watch scat porn on a jumbo jet hurtling into the bullring.)
Fast forward five years, and elements of my past re-invent themselves in electronically perfect timbres, this time with added funk, and with a little chemical alteration a love of all things electronic was born.
From this point on, my time was mainly spent stomping to the bones in my knees at legendary nights such as the Atomic Jam, Cohesion and other bi-monthly mashups in and around Birmingham, and sometimes as far away as London.
